Eco-Logic Awards to celebrate National Environment Month

Preparations are well underway for The Sixth Annual Eco-Logic Awards 2017, set to be a glittering highlight of South Africa’s National Environment Month.

The Awards will take place at the CSIR International Conference Centre on 14 June, 2017 during Sustainability Week – one of the key events scheduled during National Environment Month.

Other environmental events celebrated in June (National Environment Month) are World Environment Day on 5 June, World Oceans Day on 8 June and World Day to Combat Desertification on 17 June.

The Awards, hosted by The Enviropaedia, recognise and reward best practices and remarkable achievement by extraordinary individuals and organisations in protecting our natural environment and building South Africa’s Green Economy.

Finalists will join thought leaders, celebrities, sponsors and top business executives, government, municipal and community representatives at the Eco-Logic Awards Gala Event, during which the 2017 Winners will be announced.

Says David Parry-Davis, editor of The Enviropaedia and convener of the Eco-Logic Awards: “Our esteemed panel of judges selected five finalists in each of the 13 Eco-Logic Award categories.

“Finalists were selected from hundreds of inspiring, high-quality entries submitted by large corporate institutions, municipalities, environment and development organisations, communities, SMMEs and committed individuals.”

Judges were selected from senior management within the environmental, business, Government and media sectors to achieve a broad-based and balanced perspective in the judging process.
Sponsors and supporters of the prestigious awards include the Department of Environmental Affairs, CHEP, the City of Tshwane, National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC), Coca-Cola South Africa, Pam Golding Properties, SANRAL, SANTAM, Sodastream and Sun International.
